Love is...

A question;

                Have you ever fell in & out of love before?

                I’m pretty sure the answer is…YES. And in some cases, MANY TIMES. Well, indeed, a love relationship is one of those things that everyone will have to go through in our lives. Some have happy endings, and some, hmm…you feel as if your life has just ended.

                In this entry, I scribbled a simple poem especially for someone dear to me who is experiencing a difficult phase due to love. Do remember dear, I’ve experienced what you go through & survived. Only one love remains true…your love for Allah.

Love is…

A circle of ups and downs.

You smile wide when you are high,

you cry hard when you are down.

Maybe...

Love is…

Everything and nothing in between.

You feel full when you are together,

you feel empty when you are alone.

Perhaps...

Love is…

A lesson to take in mind,

to never lose yourself when you’re in a bind.

As no love is eternal,

except for The Almighty One.

Surely. Definitely. Absolutely.

Friday reminder (2)...

A mother’s love is precious. Thus, it is very appropriate for me to do a ‘Friday reminder’ section on mothers. I dedicate this entry to all the strong, dedicated, wonderful mothers I’m privileged to come across to in my life so far, especially to my mom :)

                Let us be reminded how important for us to treasure the mothers in our lives.

 

The Hadith

1. The Prophet Muhammad said (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him): “Your Heaven lies under the feet of your mother” (Ahmad, Nasai).

2. A man came to the Prophet and said, “O Messenger of God! Who among the people is the most worthy of my good companionship?”

The Prophet said: “Your mother”.

The man said, “Then who?”

The Prophet said: “Then your mother”.

The man further asked, “Then who?”

The Prophet said: “Then your mother”.

The man asked again, “Then who?”

The Prophet said: “Then your father” (Bukhari, Muslim).

3. It is narrated by Asma binti Abu Bakr that during the treaty of Hudaibiyah, her mother, who was then pagan, came to see her from Makkah. Asma informed the Messenger of Allah of her arrival and also that she needed help. 

He said: “Be good to your mother” (Bukhari, Muslim).

                To end today’s late entry, I’ve decided to include the following clip on how a kitten which was twitching (as if it is having some sort of a nightmare) was comforted by its mother. It’s so sweet, so I think I should share it with all of you. 

LESSON LEARNT: A mother’s true love transcends all boundaries.

A mother in despair...

Dear readers,

                I’ve just received a heartbreaking news today after returning home from my MUET invigilation. My dear friend Johana had just lost her baby today. Her son, whom she had been calling ‘little khalifah’ passed away due to premature birth complications. That’s the saddest news for any mother. I feel so sad for her. She was so happy when she knew she got pregnant. She was so happy when little khalifah was born on 7^th of October 2011. Our TESL gang even planned to do a mini-reunion & meet her, and her little khalifah this December.

 

                Ya Allah, I’m so sad… Imagine that you have been anticipating your firstborn child for months & to have lost that precious child in just a few days after he was born…missing out the chances to see him grow up. It’s so sad.

"Who, when a misfortune overtakes them, say: 'Surely we belong to Allah and to Him shall we return' "

                My friend Johana & her husband are in a very difficult situation right now. If anyone cares to read this entry of mine, please do pray for Muhammad Nuruddin bin Aminudin.
