                But…what’s this? Oh no!! I didn’t know that they have a MasterChef Blogger thingy going on. My aunt, Junie Octovian, should join this! She’s one of the best cooks ever! If only my mom has a blog, then maybe, she can join too =)

                In conclusion, all I can say is…I have a date with a certain chef…a MASTERCHEF! When is that date, you say? 22^nd October! Keke…cheesy.

Happy World Teachers' Day!!

Yayyy!

                It’s 5^th of October today! It’s WORLD TEACHERS’ DAY!

                This year’s theme; “TEACHERS FOR GENDER EQUALITY”. What’s the significance of this year’s theme? 

                Well, as you all might have noticed, most teachers are women. I think this is because we women have better understanding, and are of more nurturing, sympathetic souls. We are a lot more patient than our male counterparts. In other words, we can stand the bull…. better than the male teachers. And what’s more, WE KNOW HOW TO NAG! Huhu…

                However, it is rather unfortunate that in some parts of the world, women received lesser salaries than those of men even though these women are better qualified & in some cases, better workers. Moreover, in some countries, girls are not given the same opportunities to study as their male siblings. What a pity! 

                Thus, I feel that this year’s theme focuses on the role of teachers to balance out the equality of rights between the two genders. Whether we were born male or female; we all need each other. Thus, we must get the same opportunities as the other party. If we work together, the world will become a much better place to live in. Egad! I’m being philosophical…scary! :0

                Ooo…talking about gender equality, I remembered one time when I was in a computer shop. There was this one mother who was trying to change his son’s mind in buying a different computer mouse than the one he actually wanted. Well, you see, the son preferred a PINK computer mouse. Therefore, the mother tried her very best to persuade his son to choose a different colour…and yes, to choose a BLUE or the unisex BLACK computer mouse instead. 

                My mom & I looked at each other, but we kept quiet as it was not our business to interrupt. But, when we reached our car, mom & I talked about what happened. My mom sympathised with the boy. While, I simply said, I don’t really mind if the boy wanted a pink computer mouse. Pink is a nice, cool colour. Heck! It’s my favourite colour. So, what if a boy wanted a pink computer mouse…I would say, let him have it! Don’t ‘ya think so? And we girls can wear all the blues that we want to! Thumbs up for GENDER EQUALITY!

Forgive me…I’m just real glad it’s October! Kekeke…

                The month of October is ruled by the planet of Venus and by the charming sign of Libra. Anne of Inspiration…

Who inspired you? 

                My students often asked me that. And I often wonder. How should I answer that? Was it Anne…or Megan?

                Well, you see once upon a time, I’ve watched the most life-changing TV movies I’ve ever watched in my life so far. The title? ‘Anne of Green Gables’. Why life-changing you say? ‘Cos after watching that, I dreamed of becoming…A TEACHER! Not the most glamorous profession, I know. And yup, I think some of you might have…once in your lifetime hated teachers, right? Keke…I know the feeling.

                Who or what is ‘Anne of Green Gables’? Okay, Anne Shirley is an orphan girl who was ‘accidentally’ adopted by two elder siblings, Matthew & Marilla Cuthbert. Matthew adored Anne, but Marilla not so much. This is because Anne is such a headstrong, highly imaginative young girl. 

                Anne was given a chance to study at a village school, where she excelled tremendously. She met several interesting characters at school, for example her ‘bosom buddy’, the beautiful Diana & her ‘sworn enemy’ Gilbert Blythe.

                 The story chronicles around Anne’s journey to become an inspiring teacher of English. She often spouted poetry & daydreamed about becoming some tragic literary figures. I love the TV movies. Megan Follows who acted as Anne was perfect! That is why I couldn’t answer my students’ question on who inspired me to become a teacher. Anne or Megan? Hmm…

                By the way, many well-known people adore ‘Anne of Green Gables’ too. Yay! This is what I often quoted as “Great minds think alike”! Some of Anne’s fans are…Mark Twain (author of ‘The Adventures of Tom Sawyer’) & Stephenie Meyer (author of ‘Twilight’).

When September ends…October begins!

                I love October! For various reasons…keke. Are there any songs on October? Hmm…I need to search for one.

KCraze: KPop girl groups 101

Kekeke...I knew it! Sooner or later, I had to ‘let the cat out of the bag’. I have to confess something...not so secret.

                I like Korean Pop a.k.a. KPop. 

                Silly, right? Well, I guess I’m guilty of being silIy. I know there are people who simply hate the hype & even called it 'KPoop'. Ooo...

                I think it all started years ago (I think back in 2003) because of a certain KDrama called “Winter Sonata”. 

Gosh...that drama was so good (I cried buckets watching that drama) that I just had to surf the net & look up this ‘Hallyu Wave’ thingy some more. Thus, here I am now =)

                Let’s just say, when it comes to KPop, I know what I’m talking about...huhu. If you are a noob in this KPop thingy, well…lemme help you become an instant pro! 

                This entry is dedicated to several KPop girl groups that I feel managed to spice up my interest in what I fondly called the ‘Kimchi Pop’.
