One step closer...

I'm quoting & sharing this article to signal the start of the new year 2013…

One Year Closer to the Grave
by Shaykh Mawlānā Muhammad Saleem Dhorat hafizahullāh

At the start of the year, we need to keep in mind that one more year of our lives has gone. If our actions were evil, and we were treading the path to Jahannam, we have now come one year closer to it. And if we were in search of Jannah then we now have one year less to reach that goal. In brief, the end of the year means the end of a year of our lives. An Arabic poet says,

The passing of days please a person,
But this passing (in reality) is the passing of his life.

We need to always value each and every second of our lives, as we may not be live to see the 1st of Muharram next year; in fact we may not live to see the next moment. This is what Imam Bukhārī rahimahullāh highlighted in the following couplets,

Value the reward of Salāh whilst you have the time to do so,
For it is possible that your death is sudden.
I have seen many healthy people without any form of illness
Whose healthy soul departed suddenly

Friday reminder (10)...

Facebook has its benefits too, sometimes...
Look what I've read on Fb...

 ********************************************************************
Asma Jellad I know a man who lost his parents but refused to be called an orphan. Man enough to love a strong woman years older than him, worked for her and made her stronger, opened his heart to her, shared his fears to no one but her, cleaned after himself and sewed his clothes, and was faithful to her till her last breath. He was good looking, courageous and fearless. He never judged anyone on their pasts or looks, and was moderate, open minded and tolerant. His neighbor was Jewish and his cousin-in-law was a Christian priest. Was beaten and exiled when he was helpless. Was merciful when he became stronger. Intelligent, wise and a hard worker, built a long lasting nation out of nothing in the last 20 years of his life. He had no parents, but loved his daughters and grandchildren. His last will was "Be good to women".

This man is a dreamer, this man is my Prophet Mohammed, a man worth looking up to - peace be upon him - Don't just read, read and think who you are, and who you want to be for the people and the women you love.

Friday reminder (6)...

Six words from a beautiful verse from the Al-Quran
that will make you love your mother even more :)

"Respect the womb that bore you". [04:01 | Quran]

How beautiful. Quran & Sunnah both teach us Mothers have a special place in our hearts.

In childhood they carried our burden and in their old age they become dependent upon us.
May Allah allow us all to achieve Jannah by serving our parents.

Let us all make a collective prayer for our parents:
"My Lord, have mercy upon them as they brought me up [when I was] small."
[Qur'an, Surah Al-Isra, 17:23-24]

Amin

Friday reminder (2)...

A mother’s love is precious. Thus, it is very appropriate for me to do a ‘Friday reminder’ section on mothers. I dedicate this entry to all the strong, dedicated, wonderful mothers I’m privileged to come across to in my life so far, especially to my mom :)

Let us be reminded how important for us to treasure the mothers in our lives.

The Hadith

1. The Prophet Muhammad said (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him): “Your Heaven lies under the feet of your mother” (Ahmad, Nasai).
__________________________________________

2. A man came to the Prophet and said, “O Messenger of God! Who among the people is the most worthy of my good companionship?”
The Prophet said: “Your mother”.
The man said, “Then who?”
The Prophet said: “Then your mother”.
The man further asked, “Then who?”
The Prophet said: “Then your mother”.
The man asked again, “Then who?”
The Prophet said: “Then your father” (Bukhari, Muslim).
__________________________________________

3. It is narrated by Asma binti Abu Bakr that during the treaty of Hudaibiyah, her mother, who was then pagan, came to see her from Makkah. Asma informed the Messenger of Allah of her arrival and also that she needed help.
He said: “Be good to your mother” (Bukhari, Muslim).
__________________________________________

To end today’s late entry, I’ve decided to include the following clip on how a kitten which was twitching (as if it is having some sort of a nightmare) was comforted by its mother. It’s so sweet, so I think I should share it with all of you.

LESSON LEARNT: A mother’s true love transcends all boundaries.

Surat An-Nūr (The Light) -
24:31

And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their head covers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, their brothers' sons, their sisters' sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed.

Friday reminder...

It’s Friday...a special day for Muslims around the world. So, I’m starting this reminder section for myself & hopefully, I’m able to do it every Fridays.

This was taken as usual, from my friend on FB :)

Sekarang ni ramai yang pakai cincin... tapi ikut suka dia je...sunnah nabi jarang nak ikut..

Dikatakan bahawa menyimpan sebatang jari kuku yang panjang,
dosanya sama seperti memelihara sekandang khinzir!! Jika kesemua jejari kita menyimpan kuku

The Truth

hanya jari kelingking.

seperti memerah santan kelapa, buat cokodok pisang, uli tepong,
dll.

najis manusia, iaitu E-Coli. Kuman tersebut tidak akan hilang
walaupun kita mencuci tangan dengan sabun. Oleh itu, sentiasalah
berkuku pendek untuk kesihatan & kebersihan diri sendiri. Ini
tak termasuk korek taik hidung, telinga & sewaktu dengannya...keke.

Nasihat Nabi Muhammad S.A.W. kepada Saidina Ali kwj. sesudah
bernikah dengan Siti Fatimah iaitu anakanda kesayangan, Nabi
Muhammad S.A.W. berpesan kepada Saidina Ali iaitu kalau memakai
cincin, pakailah di jari

1] jari manis
2] jari kelingking (anak jari)

dan jangan memakai pada jari
1] jari tengah
2] jari telunjuk

Nabi Muhammad S.A.W. melarang kerana memakai cincin pada jari

I’m copy-pasting the Malay version first. I will be translating it to English later on. Have a fruitful Friday!
